Where it is, and why the altitude matters
Gualtallary is one of Argentina's most recognised high-altitude winegrowing zones, at the western edge of Valle de Uco where the valley floor climbs towards the cordillera. For a wedding, altitude is not a wine-list footnote: it sets the light, the horizon and the temperature.
Valle de Uco runs three to five degrees colder than Mendoza city, and the drop after sunset is steep — a 32 °C afternoon in January becomes 14 to 16 °C by midnight, starting around 22:00. It is the most common planning error made from abroad: an outdoor reception designed for the temperature at the ceremony rather than four hours later. The spaces
The property is used as a sequence rather than as a single room, which is what the wedding-weekend format asks for.
The vineyard takes the ceremony, timed to the end of the afternoon. In December the sun sets around 20:30, which is late enough to hold a ceremony in full light and still have the mountains colouring behind the guests as it ends.
The barrel room takes the reception: oak along both walls, amber light, a glass-fronted tank at the centre. It is an enclosed, acoustically contained space, which is worth noting for the part of the evening when sound rules matter.
The terrace faces the Andes directly and is the natural place for the cocktail hour and for the long-table format that suits smaller destination groups. Rastro, the restaurant, extends the same kitchen to the surrounding days — the welcome dinner, the day-after lunch, the meals that turn a wedding into a weekend. The plan for bad weather
There is a covered space inside the winery that takes the event, so the ceremony and the reception are not staked on a clear evening. This is the criterion couples ask about last and should ask about first: hail season runs December to March, and the Zonda wind blows between August and November. A permanent indoor space is a different proposition from a marquee that has to be built for the date and can fail in high wind.

Why capacity and rates are not published here
Two entries in the record above read on request, and that is a decision rather than an omission.
Capacity is not a fixed property of a building. The same terrace seats one number at long tables, another at rounds with a dance floor, and another again standing; the vineyard ceremony has its own figure; a wedding that moves indoors for the late hours behaves differently from one that does not. Publishing a single number would produce something that reads as a fact, gets quoted back in planning documents, and is wrong for most real guest lists. Rates behave the same way: a figure published today is repeated for years after the season it belonged to.
There is a second reason, and it is specific to how this site is read. Pages like this one are increasingly summarised by language models rather than read end to end, and a model will happily reproduce any number it finds.
